GRP Pipe |
|
|
|
GRP Pipes and Fittings manufactured by Watani are
corrosion-resistant, flexible, composite underground systems constructed
of Thermosetting Polyester Resin, Fiberglass Reinforcements, and Silica
Sand. Pipes are available in stiffness Classes of 1250, 2500, 5000, and
1000 Pa. In nominal pressure classes, it is available in PN3, PN6, PN10,
PN16, and PN20. These pipes are designed to withstand aggressive
environments both for pressure and gravity applications and are
available in Nominal Diameters (DN) from 300 mm to 2600 mm, AWWA C950,
O.D. series. |
|
|
|
Uses
Watani pipes can be used for gravity and pressure applications and
are suitable for corrosive environments including aggressive sanitary
sewage, raw water, potable water, sea water, fire fighting lines, and
many industrial effluents with a temperature range of 40° C to 65° C.
Watani pipes to be used for handling industrial effluents must be
discussed with us at the design stage. |
|
|
|
Special pipes can be manufactured to be used for above ground or higher
temperatures. |

Watani's design philosophy is to provide products
with suitable properties and the required margin of safety that will
enable the pipe to perform satisfactorily after an extended period of
operation (++50 years) under typical service conditions. After over 20
years in the GRP industry, Watani is looking forward to providing GRP
Piping solutions in the various areas:
|
|
|
|
 | Water distribution both civil and industrial |
 | Sewer Systems: urban and industrial |
 | Water intakes for cooling water systems |
 | Irrigation networks |
 | Waste water outflows to the river/ocean |
 | Sea lines and river crossings |
 | Process lines for industrial plants |
 | Fire fighting networks |
 | Corrosive fluids and vent gas stacks |
 | Well casings and well pump risers |
 | Pen Stocks |
 | Gasoline handling and distribution networks |
 | Flue gas stock |
|

|
Advantages - Light Weight |
|
 | Their lightweight, high strength ratios require lighter support
structures than the heavy metallic systems which provides additional
cost savings. |
 | No need for expensive heavy duty machinery during installation. |
|
|
Corrosion Resistant |
|
 | No need for linings or catholic protection. |

Joints
- GRP Double Bell Couplings
The standard field joint shall be a Double Bell GRP
Coupling. It incorporates elastomeric rubber rings which compress to
form a water tight seal when the joint is assembled. The maximum angular
change of direction between pipe axes must not exceed the values given
in the table below. |
