Ozdemir has spent more than 30 years as a professor at the School of Mines, where he dedicates his research to innovative mechanical excavation and drilling techniques. Coss' company has provided equipment, product support and engineering services for state-of-the-art tunneling and microtunneling projects across the globe for 23 years.

The two also serve as course directors for the successful and long-running Microtunneling Short Course. With more than 1,700 students from 25 countries attending over the last 17 years, the Microtunneling Short Course is recognized as the world's leading educational venue for microtunneling.
